Life Keeps Changing

In 2003, my job brought us here from Santa Cruz, California. We miss the ocean and the beautiful coast, but Hygiene has it’s own kind of charm. With the local, small store, cafe, and shops, it’s like being in another era. We look out daily at the clouds, clear sky and wonder how we got along without all this. Growing things in this dry part of the country can be challenging, but the hard drought seems over and things are turning green again. We too, have grown into new friendships and found some new hobbies along the way. Peggy and Dan have been singing with the Longmont Chorale since 2003. That has kept us vocalizing since we came to this area. Many good friends and many good memories. Peggy has joined several local quilting groups and has even taught some classes. Dan finally got his Private Pilot license and bought into an airplane partnership with his flying buddies. Now that we’re retired, we can’t decide whether to slow down or speed up. Whatever happens, we are planning to enjoy it. A recent trip to Scotland with Dan’s sister and her husband was a nice vacation. Our son Eric graduated from University of Nebraska with a degree in English. He spent some time in Seattle but finally decided to make a go of it in Los Angeles; dad’s old stomping grounds. He now has his Master’s degree in English, with a focus on Creative Writing. Go novelist! Don’t be surprised to see a good fiction with his name on it soon.
